I belonged to Rinzai sect Tofuku-ji Temple group, and the strange joy hermitage was erected to (1492-1501) in the Meio era year of the Muromachi era. When a sect model made the trace which moved to Shikoku in later years a temple, as for the founder, it is conveyed the mansion of Sokan Yamazaki who was the father of the cause linked poem in 春嶽士芳禅師 which is a founder of Tofuku-ji Temple Seiichi Most Reverend Priest heir to Buddhist tradition. The title of Buddhist temple mountain was attached to hermitage called "wonder joy hermitage" with the thing which 開山春嶽禅師 named it by hermitage of 大慧禅師 of Soong.
